A public meeting is being held on August 28, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at the Seguin Utilities Operation Center, 3027 N. Austin Street, Seguin, Texas 78155 to discuss the City of Seguin's proposed project to install approximately 500 linear feet of two (2) new 30-inch high density polyethylene (HOPE) force main pipelines, two (2) 4-inch conduit, and two (2) fiber optic cables from the Lift Station at Walnut Branch Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) by boring the previously listed components beneath Walnut Branch terminating within the City-owned Max Starcke Park.
One of the purposes of this meeting is to discuss the potential environmental impacts of the project and alternatives to it. This project involves construction in the 100-yearfloodplain and within a Texas Parks and Wildlife Code, Title 3, Ch. 26, Secs. 26.001 park (Max Starcke Park). Alternatives to construction in a floodplain, potential impacts on floodplains, and temporary and permanent effects of parkland will be addressed during the public meeting. The total estimated cost of the project is $1,200,000.00.
The estimated average monthly sewer bill fora residential customer is currently $50.00. A customer rate increase is not required to finance this project. An application for financial assistance for the project has been filed with the Texas Water Development Board, P.O. Box 13231, Austin, Texas 78711-3231. A Categorical Exclusion document for the Project has been prepared which will be available for public review at Seguin City Hall, 205 N. River St., Seguin, Texas 78155 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. for 30 days following the date of this notice.
