Join us at the Seguin Public Library for "Seguin Storytellers," a monthly storytelling series presented in partnership with Seguin Storytellers. Gather in the Community Meeting Room every last Sunday of the month for a one-hour journey through our city's rich history, shared by longtime residents who've helped shape Seguin's vibrant heritage and community spirit.
It’s Mardi Gras 1968 and all of New Orleans is filled with an air of excitement, magic and
romance. With grand traditions, rich and colorful themes, elaborate costumes and hand
painted floats, the Rex Parade was weaving its way along the parade route.
Sue Blumberg, a young woman of 20, was viewing the parade with her family at their
usual spot. The parade halted briefly as a Texas A & M cadet marching with the Ross
Volunteers took advantage of the romantic surroundings and asked Sue to attend the
Rex Ball with him.
Come hear Sue recount her cherished memories surrounding that once in a lifetime
opportunity to accompany Fred (destined to become the love of her life) to the
enchanting Rex Ball.
