Vermicomposting presented by Peter Hernandez, Advanced Master Gardener

Join Peter for an informative presentation on Vermicomposting. Vermicomposting is the process of using worms—typically red wigglers—to break down organic waste into nutrient-rich compost. The worms consume food scraps, paper, and other biodegradable materials, producing castings that enhance soil fertility. This method accelerates decomposition, reduces landfill waste, and creates an eco-friendly way to recycle kitchen leftovers. It’s a natural, efficient way to improve soil health while minimizing waste.

A small brown snack bag (fruit cup, crackers, granola bar and water) will be provide

Adults only. Registration required.

The Lunch and Learn Series, sponsored by the Guadalupe County Master Gardeners and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, is composed of ten programs designed to educate the community on all things gardening. Classes are led by Master Gardeners and take place on the second Saturday of most months.
